Take Off traces a character’s journey, shedding her layers step by step. Through a continuous act of “undressing,” the audience is invited to see the character in a new light. The piece, created and performed by Hani Sirkis (aka drag queen Barbie Cute), harnesses the drag medium, which Hani has been exploring for years. What begins as a monstrous, heavily costumed figure constantly dissolves into countless versions of herself. The piece deals with the question – does a costume conceal the truth, or does it, in fact, expose it?
16+ The performance includes nudity and flashing lights
