Bdy.frqncy.proj is a collaboration between Danny Tavori, a contemporary circus artist, and Nir Jacob Younessi, a code artist. Between contemporary dance and sound art, Experiments in Communication by Means without Emotion is a performance that explores the limits of expression by using technology. Using code, movement sensors, and a surround sound system, they explore the notion of authenticity by translating the body’s movement into data. The performance reflects on the limitations of language as an apparatus for self-expression and shares with the audience a vibrant artistic experience of connection beyond words.
Danny Tavori is a contemporary dancer and circus artist. His passion lies in expanding the notion of ‘the possible’ through acrobatics and movement research using objects. He graduated from FLIC circus school in Italy as a vertical rope dancer, accomplished his MA studies in circus practice at DOCH in Sweden, and works with the L’après Plume company in France. Danny’s artistic language is distinguished by integrating apparatuses into the body’s movement, the poetics of technical details, and a sensitive and combustive movement style.
Nir Jacob Younessi is an interdisciplinary artist originating from electronic and classical music. Currently, he is working on developing connections between live performance and digital code. He graduated from BPM College with a degree in sound and music production, where he is now a guest teacher. He collaborates with dancers, theater performance artists, and contemporary circus artists. Younessi is passionate about creating interactive work and live electronic music to break the limits of visual performance using digital art.
