Choreographic lab: WITNESS
The lab is an open creative process for professional dancers, actors, performers, and makers. The choreographer will guide participants to discover their individual potential, supporting personal expression and improvisation. The session begins with a 50 min warm-up. The lab refers to the universe of the project WITNESS. The Participants are invited to develop the choreographer’s material and ideas.
After graduating from the art grammar school, Vera studied choreography at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. She won the Most Outstanding Dancer Award at the Masdanza Festival in the Canary Islands and the First Prize for group work.
She created the choreography for Havel’s Antikody at The National Theatre’s New Stage and worked as a performer with Japanese choreographer Min Tanaka in A body performance.
Her most successful performance GUIDE has been performed dozens of times worldwide and has won several awards: the Audience Award, the Lighting Design Award, and the Dancer of the Year awarded to Jaro Ondrus at the Czech Dance Platform. In 2017, the performance was selected among the 20 most interesting European works within the Aerowaves network.
It has attracted viewers of all generations in Europe, the USA, Israel, and South Korea. In December 2021, her latest performance, WITNESS, premiered and won the Audience Award at the Czech Dance Platform 2022.
