INSTRUMENTAL BODIES | Perception vs. Sensation
INSTRUMENTAL BODIES — Perception vs. Sensation, is where we meet a physical-vocal practice in which the experience of the body and the sounds generated within it, go through various actions-connections with the floor, via a vocal and flesh approach. The workshop communicates with the work: 7 INCH OF SLAM – THE FULL BODY SOUNDSCAPE (2019 – 2023).
We will investigate our versatile vocalism as transformative language and behavioral frequencies; The range of the voice as a muscle, as a heterogeneous soul. Embodying humming, singing and the groove of the flesh, trying to connect with each other through our deep sense of hearing, within a space of darkness.
Annabelle Dvir is an Israeli-Georgian choreographer, voice artist, live sound composer and dance performer who researches the live art, together with her ensemble W O M E N O F S O U N D S, through the tension between sensation and perception, the heard and the seen; Creating extreme physical-vocal practices while examining new esthetics that merge feminine reality into fantasy. Dvir Composes the embodiment of live sound and the visual shapes of alternating soundscapes in order to transform human preconceptions, emotions and inner desires.
