Lucinda Childs | Works In Silence with Ty Boomershine
Repertoire Workshop
The workshop is taught by Ty Boomershine, Artistic Director of the Dance On Ensemble and long-time collaborator and artistic assistant for Lucinda Childs. The workshop will discuss Lucinda Childs’s use of scores in her choreographic process, experience her investigations into repetition, theme, and variation, and her approach to content and concept being the actual containers of meaning. The dancers will learn sections of the repertoire shown on the evening of Lucinda Childs’ Works in Silence, presented at the Tel Aviv Dance Festival 2023.
*The pro summer workshops are in high professional level and intended for professional dancers or dancers that are studying in a professional training program.

The Artist
Ty Boomershine has been engaged in various companies, including Lucinda Childs Dance Company, Emio Greco | PC, and Merce Cunningham Repertory Ensemble. He appeared in multiple works by individual choreographers – such as Yvonne Rainer, Dan Wagoner, Gus Solomons Jr, Ton Simons, and Giulia Mureddu. He danced in Robert Wilson’s opera Einstein on the Beach and presented his own choreography at Movement Research and Danspace Project in New York, as well as at OT301 and Holland Festival in Amsterdam. Since 2007, he has acted as Lucinda Childs’s artistic assistant, staging her works and assisting her on various projects worldwide. Ty Boomershine has taught workshops and technique classes at professional companies, universities, and open studios throughout Asia, Europe, and the United States. Since 2019 he has been acting as Artistic Director of the Dance On Ensemble.
