The Work

A CORPO LIBERO

A Corpo Libero is a work that mocks the female condition, starting from the joyful fluidity of the body. From a dramaturgical perspective, the work explores a time of inadequacy, omnipotence, and acceptance within the contamination of expressive techniques.

A dancing body that occupies full and empty spaces; that relates, with its curves and its’ soft parts’, the imperfection that becomes normality, one’s physicality as the surface of an inner world.

Silvia Gribaudi’s  A Corpo Libero is an irreverent performance brought into urban spaces, the cry of revolt by a freedom-seeking woman.

R.OSA – 10 EXERCISES FOR NEW VIRTUOSITIES

R.OSA is a piece perfectly inscribed in Silvia Gribaudi’s poetics; Silvia is a choreographer who, with a baffling irony, stages the expression of a body, of women, and of the social role they are given, through an informal language, creating a relationship with the audience.

R.OSA is inspired by Botero’s imagery, Jane Fonda’s world of the 80s, and the concept of success and performance.

R.OSA is a piece in which the performer stages a “one-woman show,” shifting the audience’s gaze through a dramaturgy that is composed of 10 exercises of virtuosity.

R.OSA is an experience in which the audience members are invited to become, voluntarily or not, protagonists of the artistic action on stage.

R.OSA is an insight into how we look at others and what we expect from them based on our own preconceptions. The piece revolves around a challenge to constantly go beyond one’s limit.

R.OSA stages the revolution of the body, which revolts against gravity and shows its levity.

The Artist

Silvia Gribaudi is an Italian choreographer and performer. In her work, she combines dance with humor, always perceiving performing arts with an emphasis on the social impact of bodies and the relationship with the audience. Her international career launched with her solo A CORPO LIBERO, followed by the award-winning shows R.OSA, GRACES, and MONJOUR. Recently, she was a guest choreographer at Opera de Lyon for the project “Danser Encore – 30 solos pour 30 danseurs.” Her most recent piece premiered on June 2023 in GRAND JETE, a co-production of European dance festivals within the Big Pulse Dance Alliance network. Her shows have been featured in several national and international festivals and result from a creative process focusing on dialogue and the poetic encounter with other artists, dance companies, and communities.
