About The Festival

The Tel Aviv Dance Festival is Suzanne Dellal Centre’s annual event that presents international and local dance companies and choreographers. Its mission is to provide access to new dance forms and create communal spaces for the development and sharing of knowledge among dance lovers. The festival aims to invigorate cultural and social encounters between different people and communities by inspiring joy, wonder, and connection.
This year’s program features carefully selected international and local performances focusing on diversity and the richness of cultures and identities. It creates a unique and immersive experience that celebrates various aspects of the performing arts and fosters a vibrant atmosphere filled with creativity and excitement. The festival brings together over 20 performances, including 10 international companies and 7 Israeli premieres by prominent and emerging dance artists. Among them are two artists participating in our residency program: Adi Boutrous and Annabelle Dvir.
For the first time, the festival is launching a summer course for professional dancers, introducing the Tel Aviv Dance Nights after-show events in collaboration with TEDER, and continuing the all-styles street dance program known as the Cypher Connection.

Surrounding the festival is the idea of a mobile, suspended structure that is changeable in appearance, mood, or purpose. It is an instrument capable of moving and being moved, characterized by mixed elements connected to one another— a set of relations that ignites the imagination and the infinite potential of coming together.

In All I Need, Edouard Hue innovates a complex and exciting strategic ballet, immersing his dancers in a game-like structure. Inspired by current political figures, the dancers embody intense yet precise energy, resulting in an electrifying and virtuosic dance experience. Silvia Gribaudi’s A Corpo Libero is a humoristic and desecrating performance brought into public space, presenting a freedom-seeking woman’s cry of revolt. WITNESS Vera Ondrasikova’s performance, invites us into a utopian landscape that reminds us of great cinematic moments and prompts reflection on the Anthropocene and the human-nature relationship. Stav Struz’s Spaces shares a story that reflects the toll of war and the silenced voices of people who have grown tired of the image of heroism. In Yasmeen Godder’s S.O.S. – Songs of Sequence an ensemble of 11 performers welcomes the audience on a joint voyage towards creating an ad-hoc, empathy-based community.
As the program unfolds, the Dance On Ensemble, a Berlin-based company for professional dancers over 40 who look back on a long dance biography, performs Works in Silence by Lucinda Childs, one of the most important choreographers of the 20th century. In contrast, Amit Noy, an emerging New Zealand-based choreographer, addresses the Third Culture Kids (TCK) phenomena by creating choreography for four generations of a single family.

The festival invites us to discover each artist’s unique and fascinating world, through which we draw a new gaze on dance as it plays a vital role in bringing people together, bridging differences, and fostering understanding. Our festival is a celebration of Israeli culture’s rich diversity and creative potential. Join us to discover new talents, witness outstanding performances, and experience the explosive energies, subtle stories, and mysterious wonders of dance.
